St. Louis Figures Out That It’s All About The Bacon

Bacon needs no introduction. Like a Nuke Laloosh fastball, it announces its presence with authority. It’s taken over the concession stands from ballpark to ballpark, city to city. It was only inevitable that St. Louis would fall to its sexy and powerful appeal. So you have Busch Stadium in 2015: the newest Bacon Central …

… A concession stand on the Main Concourse and a cart on Level 4 will both be called All About the Bacon and will feature offerings noted for their unusually high bacon content, said Larry Johnson, executive chef for Delaware North Sportservice, which makes the food throughout the stadium.

Perhaps the most bacony item is the Extreme Bacon Sandwich, a slice of barbecue-spiced ground pork wrapped in applewood-smoked bacon and stuffed with cheddar cheese and more bacon, glazed with barbecue sauce and drizzled with barbecue aioli, served on a locally baked Hawaiian bun. It will be accompanied by a bag of maple bacon-flavored potato chips for $12.

Bacon stuffed with bacon? And this hasn’t yet torn a hole in the space-time continuum? Not yet. But it might rip a hole in your insides if you’re not ready for it.

There are plenty of other new food options at Busch Stadium, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Among other things, there’s a new chicken and waffle sandwich with maple gravy, a double gooey burger which you can get with a pound of meat, and deep fried Oreos. Here is their video recap:
