When Gluttony Just Isn’t Enough: Tonight Is “Mega Gluttony” Night In Reading

This is how Wikipedia defines “Gluttony“:

Gluttony, derived from the Latin gluttire meaning to gulp down or swallow, means over-indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, or wealth items to the point of extravagance or waste.

But hey tonight, you can experience the seventh, eighth, and ninth deadly sins at the Reading Fightin’ Phils game as they are hosting “Mega Gluttony Night“:

The Mega Gluttony Night Deck Package gets you the regular Deck Pick Menu at Bunbino’s Tailgate at the Coors Light Deck (featuring a 2 ½ hour all-you-can-eat buffet consisting of barbecued chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad, tortilla chips, chips, cookies, the area’s largest hot dog toppings bar, and Pepsi products) plus a Gluttony Night wristband for all-you-can-eat at the concession stands from 5:00 p.m. until the 7th Inning Stretch. A Fightin Phils Gluttony Night wristband gets you all-you-can-eat access to hot dogs, French fries, ice cream, soda, pizza, and funnel cake.

That’s not all, though. The Mega Gluttony Deck Package also grants you access to the 15th Annual Chili Fest and the 6th Annual Wing Fest featuring the tastiest samplings from some of Berks County’s most popular restaurants. The Mega Gluttony Night Deck package also includes picnic table seating in the Bunbino’s Tailgate at the Coors Light Deck area. (…)

The Fightins will also be hosting the Gluttony Night $500 Eating Challenge presented by Yuengling Ice Cream! Contestants will have to eat one of every Gluttony Night item (hot dog, small fries, Yuengling Ice Cream, small soda, a slice of pizza, and a funnel cake PLUS six wings and a bowl of chili). Whoever eats the smorgasbord of food first will win the grand prize of $500 thanks to Yuengling Ice Cream.

That’s $500 that will surely go to the emergency room for their stomach pump. But hey, a win is a win, right?

Good luck to all contestants. May you win, or simply be able to walk away from the park without needing a wheelbarrow.
