One of the great myths about the Citi Field foodie experience is that it’s all about Shake Shack. Now don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Shake Shack at the ballpark, and most people are (which explains why the lines are so long.) But there is a variety of great options at Citi … from the Taqueria to Blue Smoke to Box Frites, to the Pat LaFrieda meatball and steak sandwich stands, and even a separate burger stand named after Keith Hernandez.
Pig Guy NYC added to the fun last season, introducing their “Bacon on a Stick” stand which was a huge hit at Citi Field and at MCU Park, the home of the Single A Brooklyn Cyclones. But if you’ve ever had their maple glazed deliciousness and thought “this isn’t quite enough for me”, well first … since when is bacon not enough? You think you’re better than me? And second, there’s a solution for you this season:

There has been some terrible baseball at Citi Field over the past six seasons. And the one thing that has gotten the fans through it all is the food. The Mets are supposed to be pretty good this season. But I wonder if anyone will notice if all of these mad food scientists keep coming up with stuff like bacon dipped in s’mores … on a stick.
